My HPE Campus Placement Interview Experience

I recently went through the interview process for HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) through campus placements, and I’d like to share my complete experience.
The process included three interview rounds:
Technical Round
Managerial Round
HR Round
Pen and Paper Test: Career Preview Program HPE Selection
The first stage was an offline test with 50 MCQs covering:
C++, Python, Java
Computer Networks
Kubernetes
Questions related to HPE
General behavioral questions
Round 1: Technical Interview
The technical interview was a mix of project-based discussion, technical concepts, and problem-solving.
Project Discussion:
Started with my HPE project: Distributed Prometheus.
Discussed real-world applications and company benefits.
Around 30 minutes of discussion on the project itself.
Computer Networks:
What is IP?
What is VPN?
What are the OSI layers?
Docker & Kubernetes:
What is Docker?
What is a container?
Types of Docker network connections (Host, Bridge, Overlay, etc.)
Do you know about Kubernetes?
Operating Systems:
Which operating systems have you used?
Difference between Windows and Linux
Storage hierarchy
What is SSD?
Databases & Cloud:
What is indexing in a database?
Different cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
General & HR-Type Questions:
What’s the recent news about HPE?
Strengths and weaknesses
Personal projects
Coding Question:
Asked to write Bubble Sort on paper.
Explained best case O(n) and worst case O(n²).
👉 Tip: While answering, try to extend the conversation by connecting related topics. It shows depth.
Round 2: Managerial Interview
This round was very chill and friendly.
Explained personal and HPE project.
Full resume discussion, including PUC percentages and CGPA.
Confirmed whether our college allowed CPP students for placements.
Asked a few behavioral questions.
👉 Tip: Include 10th marks in your resume as well; some interviewers do ask.
Round 3: HR Interview
Focused on personality, career goals, and communication skills.
Questions asked:
Tell me about yourself.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
What are your hobbies?
Why don’t you want to pursue a master’s degree?
Explain your HPE project in simple terms.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Tell me about your family background and siblings.
Final Tips for HPE Interviews
